The film was made in a fairy bog standard Mercedes 4 door. The sound is a Ferrari 275GTB owned by LeLouch, overdubbed in patches to synch with the corners and gear changes. The reason he didn't do it in the Ferrari was that there are various points on the route where the ferrari would bottom out at those speeds.
