There was a bloke who sent an email to an agency (could have been Weiden + Kennedy, not too sure) saying that he really liked their work and would love to work for them and to that end would be sitting across the road from their offices the next day.
So next day he showed up with a chair and sat across the road from the office with a brolly and his portfolio to get an interview. From what I remember he got a job with them.
