I'm sure it has been said in this thread but it bears repeating.
The Mayans NEVER SAID THE WORLD WOULD END IN 2012.
It's just when their calendar repeats. They believed in cyclical time. Not worldwide psychic cosmic or destructive events happening because of solar flares or the galactic center (which we don't even know the exact location of) 'aligning' with the sun.
