exactly what 7point34 said.
ie like it or not is here for very long time. ie8 with regards to its predecessors is a good browser however all browsers render a little different and each has its own unique gloss i feel.Microsoft seem to finally have it in their few for a standards based internet.
In the next 2 to 3 years we will see less support for ie6 and more in favour of standards compliant browsers, not for what ie6 cannot do but what other browsers can.
