so I learned the other day that the real reason 2012 is a big deal in ancient religions and cultures is because it coincides with the galactical alignment...basically when the sun is directly in the center of the galaxy like a solar eclipse of the galaxy...happens every 20,000 years. So this is amazing not because its supposed to be the end of the world but because ancient people, like 7,000 years ancient, had this figured out.
