This would never fly at logopond or smashingmag:
"It's a great start, I see what you're going for but it needs to go to the next level. Try a gradient or a gel effect, maybe a drop shadow to help it 'pop' a bit. keep working at it"
and don't forget to place it on a textured background of some sort.- haha too truekafkaesque
