hahaha, excellent! Why can't we all just get along?
I went to my first Critical Mass last week, and whilst it was a mostly very enjoyable few hours, I was really disappointed by the conduct of quite a lot of the other riders. Empty middle class shells, desperate to shout about something, anything. They often got far too involved and angry where pedestrians and drivers were concerned.
I saw one guy cut across a car then brake sharp, throw down his bike in front of the car then start screaming at the driver, banging on the bonnet - all because of some perceived slight (I was right behind, so saw that nothing had happened). The driver was a youngish woman, on her own, in a tiny wee car surrounded by x hundred cyclists. I wanted to go up and fucking lamp the guy - I could only imagine the dread fear the poor woman was feeling.
People are arseholes.
Still, I can't highly recommend it enough as a pleasant meander around a city with a few tinnies and spliffs...
