    See above. She doesn't own rings. She's not the jewelry type, thank God.

    The hang up is that neither of us is very steeped in traditions, especially when it comes to something as homogenized and generic as a diamond. And she's fine with that too. The original idea when we talked about this a couple years ago, was to go with an antique ring with an unusual gemstone. Lately though, I've been thinking I'll probably have my good buddy make a custom piece (here's some of his work, worth checking out for sure -- http://onetribe.nu/about/16 )

    The bulk of his stuff is crafted from organic woods and horns, so resizing isn't necessarily a viable option.

    • whatever you do do not get her a wood ring. every time she has to wash her hands she will have to take it off or it will eventually fall apart!sea_sea
