mono, you're missing or choosing to ignore a very fundamental fact of my faith and worldview: that I was chosen, by God, not because of any merits I possess, but because for whatever reason, he decided to number me among his people. I am not superior, I am not better, I am not smarter, I have nothing worldly recommend me as better than my fellow man. I have nothing in this life that I can take with me when I die besides Christ. I have nothing but him; but having Christ, I possess all and have peace.
