I went to Aruba back in 2006 and it was a great place. Rented a car and were able to see every part of the island. They're very friendly there and we had an awesome time.
Stopped off in Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos, on a cruise this past October. They'd just been slammed by Hurricane Ike so the island was pretty rough. Seems like a nice place; however, I think Grand Turk is less of the resort type of place and more like an island community. There are probably other more private islands in theTurks.
