Trying to give the officer the benefit of the doubt (because he absolutely had the "oh my god what did i just do" look on his face afterward), it could be that he did think it was a taser but that he didn't intend to discharge the weapon. i know nothing about any of this, but do the triggers on tasers require more force than the one on a gun?

At any rate, this is a truly tragic situation for everyone. Anyone who believes this cop INTENDED to shoot and kill this man is not watching the video with unbiased eyes. It kills me that the victim has a 4 yr old kid, but also that (supposedly) the cop has a new baby and may one day have to answer the question "Daddy, did you really kill some little girls Dad?"

    • Also, is the safety mechanism on the to weapons similar?TheBlueOne
    • I agree, it was an accident, but still the cop should be facing manslaughter chargesTheBlueOne
    • Oh yes, certainly, just like any other citizen. He shouldn't be exempt from punishmentlocustsloth
    • He should be responsible for his poor judgement in the performance of his duty.TheBlueOne
