I know the 5Dmkii and D3x are in different leagues but I think the reason they will get compared is that the old 5D was the yard stick for image quality right up until the 5Dmkii was announced (3 years +).
Sure the 5Dmkii has no where near the features but the images coming off it are looking pretty clean. I'm not suggesting the 5dmkii will take better pictures for the pixel peepers, just that its destined to be compared too.
