    It's not that hard, you don't even have to buy a book - you can find tons on exposure online.

    While a dslr is at first chunky and a bit to lug around,
    I'd say a (teh) flipside is that there is more freedom in terms of what you can do with it. Even if you start from scratch you'll soon catch up the more you play around with it.

    IHOMO, selling a camera like 110 off later might not bring in the big dough. Better to start with something good you can build upon. Both in terms of lenses and camerabody.
