What is it for?
Travel?
Good. It's lightweight, that's the only reason to choose it.
Design?
She might want to have more screen real estate (ie. mb pro).
I don't think Air's ram can be upgraded above 2GB (but check that).
Air has a non-standard small hard drive, a bit slower than other laptops'. Harder to upgrade too.
Will she bee hooking it up to a monitor? Air has somewhat limited connectivity (needs more converters/hubs and stuff).
I'd say, it is only good for her if she needs to carry it around with her all the time. Otherwise, I'd look for a mb pro deal.
