Whenever I'm in the US, everyone's always complaining about the cost of gas. Well I just looked and in the US petrol is about $1 per uk litre. Over here it's over £1 a litre – about $2: we're paying twice as much, and we don't complain nearly as much let alone twice as much.
Yes, your country's bigger so you have further to drive, but why not lobby your government to finally put some money into alternative fuel research, proper money that you would be spending on wars etc.
