This whole troopergate thing may be a red herring. The ex-brother-in-law, Wooten, allegedly threatened his ex-wife's dad (also Palin's dad) if he helped with the divorce. Even before that Wooten had a "domestic violence protective order" obtained against him.
Not to say that these things can't be made up, but this smacks of leading to a dead-end. All she has to say is that she didn't want a person who was known to be violent and threatening to be on the police force. Then she's not using her power to avenge her family, she's using her power to protect her constituency.
In the meantime, while we're distracted with that, how many other things are able to go under the radar between now and Nov?- Actually, if she accessed his personal files, thats a crime, no matter what he did...NONEIS
