    id go with detritus,
    whittle down what you REALLY need.

    Just take hotel room key - or even NO key if you can leave it at hotel.
    ditch the wallet just take A card and some cash

    any sort of shoulder bag or rucksack is just going to get lost.
    what about a bumbag kind of thing?

    you can also get travel/moneybag things that you can put on your belt. might not be too a good look if you pull then the lass is like "WTF!" at your 'alan partridge stylee' wallet lol
