Hey, you can head down to the distillery district during the day to hang out, there are some galleries and restaurants in an old warehouse district that's been redone. It's located on parliament south of King street, cabbies should know where it is: http://www.thedistillerydistrict…
Also hit Queen street west of Yonge about 4 or 5 blocks for some decent shopping, there is the Black Bull which has a good patio for people watching and a few pints, I wouldn't recommend eating unless you are very hungry. That area is also the Entertainment district if you are looking for clubs etc...
