I understand majority of the people here will think the intro is pointless. I think it's pointless. But, there really are people out there who will add some 'professionally done' points to a 'hip' site like this because of animation like that. We've found adding in stuff like gets good enough feedback from less savvy users that it's worth it.
And if you don't like pointless intros then at least with this site all you have to endure is picking one obvious choice over another.
