I loved CR when I went... full of bloody yanks though ;)
I did about 1/4 of the country.I went by bus from San Jose to San Isidro of the mounatin of death stopping for a night in the mountains then stayed around Rivas for a few nights then hired a car and drove down to Osa de Penninsula and trekked through primary rainforests. Then drove along the south coast stopping for various nights ending in Dominical and then back to San Isidro and home...
great to see a beautiful country. People are very nice, food is shite and generally an ideal place to go on holiday.
I would go again but if I travelled that far I would probably want to see another south american country instead.
