"...where the winner hasn’t been decided before the contest has started..." yeah no kidding. i think anything that's put on by a radio station or whatever already has the winner decided. half the time it turns out to be a friend of the guy running the microphone.
case in point, many years ago i'm at a bar and some mgd bullshit happens to be going on and i get a ticket as i walk in the door. an hour or so later i'm in the washroom and some dude was talking trash about how he's going to win. so i think he's just messing around so i mess back saying i'm holding the winning ticket (it was for a trip to vegas, all expenses paid) and he's like 'wanna bet 100 bucks?' we chat for a bit talking trash and that was that. contest time comes and my number gets called to be in the top 10 finalists, so does his. as we get up on stage we all get mgd jackets (horrible) and a full mgd beer. as the dude running the microphone goes to pull the number (he's standing beside me) i glance into his hand and he already has a ticket hidden between his thumb and forefinger. he reaches in and doesn't even grab a ticket. who's number does he call off... the jackass who was talking shit in the bathroom. he's all like 'OH YEAH' like an asshat and is trying to milk the crowd. loaded, and pissed at the fix i tossed my full beer at him as i exited the stage. hit him smack in the chest. fucker. my removal from the bar was not pleasant. :/
