video games are a comparable media to anything directed to youth culture. you would find all the same stereotypes in comic books and action flicks.
you could literally name a video game and it would have any number of stereotypes involved.
upon further thought to flavors earlier post: it can easily be argued that the biggest stereotype based around metroid isn't that when she takes that suit off that she looks like a blonde swimsuit model, its that people were shocked when it was originally revealed that she was a woman
