    ground beef
    garlic
    onion
    salt and pepper to taste
    basil
    oregano
    little olive oil
    1 egg
    breadcrumbs
    parmesan cheese

    the key is to really mix and mash the meat (yes i've siad something slightly sexual. quick everyone note it) just really knead it with your hands until its smooth and almost a patee (sp?) consistency.
    put it in a pan and let the sides sort of crisp and brown.
    do not over cook

    serve on a bun with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese... it should be crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside
