Sorry to say my friend it has a long way to go towards being a standout piece in your portfolio. Good for you for getting cash up front, but you gotta deliver whether you got paid 30 or 3000.

It looks like a raw template that you just filled in. There are major deficiencies in the hierarchy of the content(navigation, type size, images) and then there is the aesthetic component which is sort of the intangible you have to create.

Not really trying to be mean, but do you have any experience in web design? If so are you a designer or developer. You seem to need a designer if you are the latter.

I spend a lot of my time working for small clients in the same area and have to clean up messes like this quite often.

Design isn't something that is cool, its a profession that has serious practitioners that understand how to translate a business' value and goals into communications that speak effectively to their customers.

I viewed some of your other work and it doesn't really seem to be of much higher standard. I would say you need to pursue your strengths or work harder at becoming a designer/developer as it will only serve to make you more prosperous either way.

    • exactly what i needed to hear! i am neither developer nor designer. learning on my own.jaylarson
