We shouldn't jump to conclusions. Most likely a drug OD, but could have been a freak reaction with OC drugs or something less insidious. Most likely not, but you never know. Besides all it says was that pills were present... for all we know, for the sake of sensationalism reporting, they were closed up in the medical cabinet, but technically true. They were found at the scene.
