the problem with naruto to the manga is that the anime moves so much faster than then the manga does. this is why we get lots of delays on the anime. currently the anme has already finished the first arc of the new story lines.
be aware that there was over 150 "filler" aka fake episodes during the first story arc. these episodes were never in the original manga books.
they showcase the secondary characters that we dont get to see evolve.
otherwise its the best anime...
