INTERNECINE VIOLENCE took a exacted a terrifyingly high toll in Iraq yesterday as Iran-backed insurgents blew up a massive dam near Baghdad, unleashing a massive torrent of lake water on Mosul and the suburbs of Baghdad. Early reports suggest that over 400,000 people were killed in the initial wave, and with the level of impact on the infrastructure, there could be another half million deaths from disease and the likely retribution the Sunni ethnic groups.
