in the recent comic called All Star Superman, Lex Luthor figures a way to kill superman, but in the process he maade him so much stronger too.
he achieved this by making superman fly directly into the sun, allowing his cells to absorb all the radiation without anything to protect him which gave superman so much strength that he over came his weakness against kryptonite but also it pushed his life cycle to its limits which is killing him in the process.
one of the current best superman reads out there...the only set back is the book only ships like 4 times a year so continunity is slacking thru the passing of our real time.
