wicked game, stayed up til 2am playing it, now trying not to fall asleep at work. love the huge open environments and the lack of narrow corridors like in previous halos. the art direction and attention to detail is amazing, you can even see leaves falling from the trees, grass waving in the wind, and ships fighting in the very detailed sky. the new gadgets are pretty sweet too, you can use things like deployable shields, land mines, bubble shields and this thing that launches you in the air when you step on it. levels are very varied and never get stale, there are jungles, deserts, military bases... another really cool addition is that the game records a movie everytime you play, so you can pause the game at anytime, go into the theater mode and watch everything you did in the last 30 minutes with a free-roaming camera. you can save these movies and send them to friends. i expect there's gonna be a ton of these on youtube soon. there's also a level editor, but i haven't tried it yet. all in all, one of the best games i've played, even though i didnt like halo 1 or 2.
