seriously. my parents never go to the hospital, especially if it's in some other city (even though I had my health card and Toronto is like 4 hours away). Being busy isn't a good excuse, but our schedule was packed.
I'm kind of the same way as my parents. I'm like: "I know I should go to the hospital...but...nah...it'll go away soon enough".
I'll get it checked out if the pain persists. The swelling went down after a few days. I bought one of those special socks (for the knee) to tighten it up.
