gt, i never said or implied that having a better looking computer makes you a better designer. My point is that a designer is less likely to be caught up in the hype of Apple simply because they already recognize the aesthetic beauty of Apple, and the design of a computer is already factor they consider when they go out to buy a computer. I'm not using Apple because I want to be a part of some cult, I'm using it because I respect their attention to detail.
Can you understand this?... Because I'm a designer and inherently care about the way things look, I'd rather have a good looking computer sitting on my desk with a beautiful interface versus an ugly one. it's really that simple. i don't know how your mind twisted that around to something else.
Do you apply your sense of design only to your work? what about your surroundings?
