Augh shit man, I'm so sorry to hear about that - within days of a year too - presumably that means you miss out on some of your worker rights? That's exactly how it happened to me the one time I was made redundant (from a great job, too).
Still, take it as some kind of positive - a job for life is a scary prospect, no? You're good - you'll find something else easily enough, I'm sure.
Perhaps your last year spent on NT will come in useful.. contact-wise? :P
