This is the thing that frightens me so much about popular postmodern philosophy. The idea that truth is relative and that the only moral or theological measuring stick is one's own personal scruples.

What fuckups we are! Who are we to write truth?

Give me a god that is stronger than me. Even if God as many people know him doesn't exist, I'd rather go on believing at least in the idea of him, because I make a shitty deity. So does everyone else I have ever met.

We all worship something or many things, but at the end of the day it's primarily ourselves. We are the ultimate source of truth. We are the masters of our destinies. Things exist or fail to exist based on whether we choose to acknowledge them. This is the prevalent philosophy of today, in a nutshell.

Like I said, it's frightening, and it makes me sad.
