mayweather definitely put on a fucking clinic. some of the best defense/counter-punching i've ever seen. truly amazing. that said, de la hoya should have won the bout because he is the champion and mayweather had to do more than that to beat the champion when it comes to the cards. mayweather didn't press once during the fight. when the champion is pushing the fight, its definitely wrong to award the belt to the challenger because he played good defense.
mayweather fought expertly, though. great technical fight to watch.
