If people would understand that the word "kind" as used in the passage about Noah's Ark, means generic kinds (i.e. canines instead of all the varieties which would later speciate) and that speciation occurred into the varieties we see, after the release from the Ark, it wouldn't be so hard to fathom. It also helps to not have a prejudice against the miraculous at work in our world from time to time.
