I've signed up every year since the 1st and have always failed to meet the deadline. This year is different going freelance last month. Not that I can handle any more work than I have but as a Flash guy the 1 pager doesn't show anything off.
I've spent 2 months designing a new site and I started dev a few weeks ago. I'm excited. The 1 pager will stay because it's the heat with SEO and art directors.
Is it a tradition? It's getting there... if it keeps up for 10 more years than you can start saying hell yes. Does anyone notice? You'd be surprised who surfs the forums and looks at the fan boy sites.
