Happened to me two years ago except I didn't get it until mid March, well after I did my taxes.
I wanted to go back and amend them but never found the time and didn't want to drop the extra coin to do so. I figured I could somehow correct the problem the next year when I file again.
Wrong.
I paid out the fucking ass trying to recover. The IRS was quite thorough finding my error.
Never again.
Contact the IRS and get them on your previous employers ass, cause trust me, you don't want them on yours.
