---They did, but it was really a BluRay player with some HD-DVD support... not true dual.
HD-DVD has some cool intercative features (if implemented) like being able to mask your content into the movie etc. You could skin a car in Tokyo Drift and I bet the porn industry would like to offer th ability for you to put your own face on a porn star.
