macbook refurbs?

    I mentioned this to our IT guy and he says everything he's heard says the refurb laptops are lemons, and most of them were returned because of hardware faults (because they're easier to return than a desktop).

    Your IT guy doesn't know SHIT!

    I had 3 of my laptops reburbished, NEVER had a problem with it, the one I got at the apple store came with HD problems and a dead pixel that apple does not replace.

    Refurbished means:
    somebody found a problem on the unit then returned it, manufacturer fixes problem and puts the product up to DEFAULT SELLING STANDARDS
    but can't sell at the same price on an unopened box.

    Also on the list:
    Window display boxes, un-opened returns, opened return with no problems under the 15 - 30 warranty day, etc.

    Apple gives you full warranty and they are eligible for apple care, so get the EXACT PRIVILEGES YOU GET WITH NEW ITEMS, just cheaper..

    The way I see it, you let other betatest the product for you, then pay less.
