I recommend Netgear to everyone who sets home networks up - they're cheap, cheerful and work just fine (notices smoke spilling out of router...).
The last person I recommended one to uses it with two dells and an old mac lappie (macbook, presumably). No problems, and he's a complete non-techie.
I'm sure airports are good, and possibly integrate a little bit easier with macs - nonetheless, netgears are set up from a simple IP interface through your browser - no drivers, no complications, nothing.
Yet, anyway. :)
