i work w/developers who have flat out stated on more than one occasion that "usability is a theory and an opinion", and continue to question why UI ppl are on staff.i love it.

(Oct 18 06, 09:20)they totally can't do that here as we've gotten rave reviews for the 2 products we've re-designed since i've been here (before i joined the team the team was only 2 people, a manager and css/ajax wiz), they hired myself and another designer along with two interns and we've turned their developer apps into workable ui.
for one of their products it was something like 72% of the companies who bought it are on a waiting list to have one of our trainers go to their company and show they how to install the fuckin thing, let alone run it. 72%. that's crazy.
