not sure, the english wiki article is pretty primitiv. fit causes the tiny papillas on your tongue to expand to in worst cases to almost 1 cm. and the coating on your tongue gets very heavy and dark.
it's very seldom, but mostly gets male smokers. reasons are heavy nicotin consumtion, vitamin b deficit and liver damage. Also every fifth cancer patient seems to get this (which my mother is).
it's unpleasend, but at first I thought I had fuckin tongue cancer or something, glad it was only good old black hairy tongue :P
