ok, seriously, housing is what's expensive and hard to come by, but I'd reckon if you're just here for a few weeks-month, you could find a flat for about €1000. You can rent weekly as well. Even just search the A'dam listings on craigslist as a good place to start. Otherwise, food and beers are cheap, as long as you're outside of the tourist areas... you could get by with
€20 - €40 a day minimum for the both of you. I mean I spend like 6€ a day...
