my smart friend told me some story about back in the day lobster was considered peasant food and they'd feed it to prisoners or something. or i was drunk and made that all up.

(Jul 14 06, 10:47)You're right...this is how it al lwent down i heard this story too. Basically up in Maine the peasants we're eating those guys becoasue their was an abundence of them. Then word got out those things were tasty sooo the fishermen got greedy..and as the lobster population declinded the price went up...then rich people were like, "hook it up".. and there we have the story of how lobster went from the cock-a-roach to the surf & turf.
