I played my fair share of Civ3 not so long ago. Apparently the new multiplayer expansion is out now.
I think the most important thing in that game is your building/expansion strategy. There's few really good articles out there if you search around for a few minutes. After you know when to build what where when and why a little better, as long as you get a decent starting position its really not that hard of a game to win. I never managed to wipe out all the other nations though... thats quite a challenging feat. Might be possible with a massive nuclear strike. I'll wait and see how George W. pulls it off.
