detect... recommend. never do it withouth permission!
my current site determines the users available screen size and sends them to a swf thats either 100% (for the screens big enough) or pixel size (too small, so it will just scroll for those sorry suckas).
then using actionscript, if its at 100% and their window isnt expanded enough, it will ask them to increase the size.
