Rooney's injury couold be a blessing for Gerrard at the world cup.
With Rooney in the team i think there's a tendancy for the other player's to take the foot of the gas so to speak, because they have Rooney to produce the goods.
This situation may give Gerrard the impetus to perform as he does most of the season for Liverpool but in an England shirt which rarely happens.
he truly is one of the world's greats but he needs to have the responsibility he has at Liverpool to perform at his best, in the England squad he is just another player.
