  from what i remember, the first time you attempt to play a windows media file in your new browser (new version), you get an option to play it in the browser or not, and the usual tickbox saying 'don't ask me again'.

  it sounds to me that you - by accident maybe - or someone else who uses your pc ticked 'dont ask me again' and 'yes' to play it in your browser.

  only thing i can suggest is reinstalling the browser and hope that your preferences haven;t been written to the registry for ALL TIME mwuahhhhahhahahhah
