i still say it's wrong to punish them. all they're looking for is a better life. i'm an immigrant myself (still on a green card after 18 years tho), and i know the bullshit hurdles you have to get over to get here. And that was waaaay before 9-11 (and i'm from one of the desireable countries).
punish the people that hire them, if the immigrants can't find work, they'll go home and/or stop coming.

one fucking way or another it's illegal. the feds will eventually crack the fuck down and then you will see serious deportation going on with jailtime to those violating the laws both illlegal immigrant and illegal employer
