periodic backlash against immigrants are as common as solar eclipses. do what you want, there'll be another one 10-20 years down the road. this is an immigrant country, always has been, always will be. get bent out of shape all you want, it won't be fixed. if $256 million 'wasted' on needy people upset you, how about the $300 billion we've blown on iraq?

I'm referring to the amount that is spent on individuals who have no right being here in the first place. Just because you can fuck and shoot out a baby shouldn't entitle you to benefits on taxpayers' coin.
What kind of precedent does that set?
